Privacy Policy

1. Who operates Guarded

Guarded is operated by Earnest Ventures Pty Ltd in Queensland, Australia (“we”, “us” or “our”). Privacy questions and requests can be sent to privacy@guarded.pw.

2. Information we handle

We process account identifiers, authentication records, session information, encrypted vault ciphertext, item types and technical routing metadata needed to provide the service. We may also process security and operational logs such as timestamps, request paths, IP addresses, device or browser details, and error events.

Your master password is not sent to us. Vault items are encrypted and decrypted in your browser. We store encrypted ciphertext and cannot ordinarily read the plaintext contents without access to your device, master password, or encryption keys.

3. Why we process information

We use information to authenticate accounts, store and route encrypted vault data, provide sharing features, protect the service, investigate misuse, diagnose faults, comply with law, and communicate material service or policy changes.

4. Cookies and local processing

Guarded uses a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. Decryption keys and readable vault data exist transiently in browser memory while the vault is unlocked. Locking reloads the page and clears application references, but browser software cannot guarantee physical memory zeroisation.

5. Disclosures and international processing

We may use infrastructure, hosting, security, and support providers that process limited information on our behalf. Providers may operate outside Australia. We require service providers to handle information only for authorised purposes and apply appropriate safeguards where reasonably available.

6. Retention and security

We retain account and encrypted vault information while your account is active and as reasonably required for security, backup integrity, dispute resolution, or legal obligations. Logs are retained only as long as operationally necessary. We use technical and organisational safeguards, but no service or transmission method is completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask to access or correct personal information we hold, request deletion, or raise a privacy complaint. Because vault contents are encrypted, we may be unable to identify, access, correct, or export plaintext vault data for you. Contact privacy@guarded.pw; we may need to verify your identity.

8. Children

Guarded is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as Guarded or applicable law changes. We will publish the revised effective date and provide additional notice where required.
